The Arcadia Public Art Project creates community-focused public art projects rooted in and around Glenside, Pennsylvania. Annual cohorts of student apprentices work with professional artists and Arcadia faculty to design and fabricate a growing collection of public artwork. We aim to build bridges between the diverse communities that call Glenside home, in the service of contributing to a more connected, sustainable, and equitable community.
Each year we invite a professional artist to work with a cohort of student apprentices. Now in our 7th year, Arcadia Public Art is creating a unique collection of artwork that enhances our shared public space.
Our past projects include:
2017, Mural, Glenside Station Underpass West side, Artist David Guinn
2018, Mural, Glenside Station Underpass East side, and Lighting both sides, Artist David Guinn
2019, Mural, Sweet Magnolia, S. Easton Road, Student led project
2020, Sculptural Benches and Platform, Keswick and Waverly, Artist Kelly Cave
2021, Glenside Walking Tour, Artist Yixuan Pan, Read more here.
2022, Mural, Arcadia: Birthed Out of Love, Artist Amir Campbell, Read more here.
