Panther Pride Unleashed at Cheltenham High School - Amir Campbell, 2023
Amir Campbell's Panther Pride Unleashed mural statement:
"The mural, titled Panther Pride Unleashed, vividly portrays a panther dynamically breaking through bricks, symbolizing Cheltenham High School’s commitment to unity, oneness, overcoming obstacles, and breaking barriers as a collective force. Not only does the panther embody the students' inner passion, reflecting their resilience and determination to navigate obstacles, it also represents the spirit of the faculty and staff that protect their students by any means necessary, just as a panther protects its own. The shattered bricks represent the barriers that students face, emphasizing the school's dedication to fostering an environment where these hindrances are dismantled.
The panther, a symbol of strength and courage, embodies the shared spirit that connects students, fostering a sense of belonging and pride in their collective identity, and the mural captures the essence of that Panther Pride, where each student is a vital part of a unified community
As the panther breaks through the bricks, it solidifies the power to overcome and push through and overcome the obstacles that may get in the way of collective progress. The mural encourages students to recognize their inner panther—instinctively resilient and determined—empowering them to face challenges with a sense of unity and purpose. The diverse background of students is celebrated within the mural, highlighting the richness of the school community, and reinforcing the idea that strength lies in embracing differences. The paw print symbolizes everyone’s unique identity, while the abstract colors show the diverse personalities and creative culture within the walls of Cheltenham High School.
The concept of oneness is visually reinforced through the dynamic composition, where the panther’s movement and the scattered bricks create a harmonious flow. Panther Pride becomes a symbol, not just of individual accomplishment, but of the collective strength derived from a community working together. This mural stands as a testament to the school’s unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of success, diversity, and shared pride among its students.
Incorporating the panther emphasizes the students' pride and spirit, connecting them to a symbol of strength and courage. The diversity within the student body is subtly woven into the mural's fabric, as the panther represents unity and shared goals. The mural aims to inspire a sense of collective commitment to success, encouraging each student to channel their inner panther and boldly confront the challenges on their path to achievement and success."

Let Us Show You Around - Yixuan Pan, 2021
Conceptual artist, Yixuan Pan, created an interactive walking tour of Glenside in 2021. With the added challenge of Remote Learning, Pan curated an audio tour of Glenside that led participants from Glenside Train Station through memorable and important parts of town ending at the castle at Arcadia University. Each stop on the walking tour is distinguished by a QR code accessible with a smartphone. Stops along the route include Glenside Fire Station, Glenside Free Public Library, Michael’s Diner, and the Oldest Chestnut tree in Glenside.
Students involved in the class interviewed members of the community to include in the tour and recorded sections themselves. The entire tour can be here: https://www.arcadiapublicart.com/glenside-walking-tour.html.

The Arcadia-Glenside Community Railway - Kelly Cave, 2021
The Arcadia-Glenside Community Railway is a functional sculpture that celebrates the connections between Arcadia University and the Glenside community. Led by artist Kelly Cave, this artwork was created as the third installment of Arcadia Public Art.
The artwork is functional and acts as a seating area or amphitheater. When designing, the team of Arcadia student apprentices envisioned creating a place where residents could enjoy sitting and reading, and where the community could host storytime for kids and performances. Using SEPTA’s 1970s “Gulf Oil” paint scheme, the design of the artwork is inspired by the Route 6 trolley line that once traveled up Keswick Avenue. This was once a popular trolley line that would take civilians to the Willow Grove Amusement Park. Using the trolley as a source of inspiration connects the artwork with the history of the site and hopes to inspire more connections between the Glenside and Arcadia communities for years to come.
